Jesus vs Christianity: The Great Divide
Jesus's Original Message
Paul's Invention: Christianity
Key Differences & Historical Context
Historical Timeline
33 AD: Jesus crucified
40-50s AD: Paul writes epistles
100+ years: Paul's teachings adopted
No 1st century evidence of "confess Jesus as Lord" theology outside Paul
The "Other Gospel"
When Paul warns against "another gospel" - there was only ONE other gospel: the actual teachings of Jesus's disciples. Paul was the one adding new teachings, not them.
Psychological Impact
Paul's doctrine creates spiritual disempowerment: "You're totally depraved, can't be righteous, can't evolve spiritually." This contradicts Jesus's message of human potential and God within.
The Most Damaging Belief in Human History
"I personally believe that the main tenants of Christianity - this idea that you have to verbally confess and mentally believe in a Dogma or God Burns you in hell - I believe this is the single most negatively influenced belief in human history that has done more damage to our world than any other single belief has."
Restoring the Original Message
1. Jesus's Movement: A Jewish reform movement focused on restoring the Law of One (love God, love neighbor), practical righteousness, and God's presence within all people.
2. Paul's Invention: A new religion centered on Paul's visions and revelations, emphasizing verbal confession, total depravity doctrine, and replacing practical righteousness with "cheap grace."
3. Historical Reality: For 100+ years after Jesus, there was no Christian sect teaching Paul's doctrines. The original followers (Jesus's disciples) continued teaching Jesus's actual message.
4. Modern Christianity: Built almost entirely on Paul's teachings, with Jesus's actual message marginalized or reinterpreted through Paul's lens.
The solution isn't to abandon spirituality, but to return to the source: "Let's just see what Jesus said about salvation today and throw away everything else... We can return to the core by returning to the teachings of the Great Master Yeshua the Nazarene."
I have not come to destroy Christianity to abolish it but to fulfill it
